ABOUT US
Teaching in the public school system, Terri George saw the need for families to better understand the way to help their children access vital services. Special Education Solutions was created to provide guidance and assistance to families navigating the territory of special education. Partnering with an advocate who has experience in the special education system often leads to families gaining a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities. We strive for creative and collaborative solutions to your education needs.
SERVICES
For school aged students 3 to 22
COMPREHENSIVE RECORDS REVIEW
We will obtain your child's full educational record including: evaluations, report cards, progress reports, IEPs, 504 plans, discipline records, standardized testing and more. These records will be reviewed to ensure they are receiving the appropriate supports and services. After review, a face-to-face or virtual meeting will be scheduled with you to discuss the findings and make any necessary recommendations.
DISTANCE LEARNING SUPPORT
We can assist you during distance learning by setting up a daily schedule, monitoring grades and helping with assignments. We can partner with your child's school to make a plan for success. If you need additional materials or visual supports, we can create them or obtain them for you.
IEP GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT
An experienced advocate will assist you with the IEPÂ process from initial request for evaluations through final implementation. If your child already has an IEP, we can join you at any step along the way. Some families prefer support throughout the school year and others only need guidance during annual meetings. We are happy to accommodate your individual needs.
SCHOOL CONFERENCE SUPPORT
We will support you during any school conferences for academic and behavioral needs. Is your child having difficulty at school and you don't know why? We will work collaboratively with the school to help them think outside the box to find a solution. Your advocate will work with you each step of the way.
SERVICES
Early Intervention birth to age 3
EARLY INTERVENTION SUPPORT
Babies and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities are entitled to early interventions services at no cost to families. Each state is responsible for having a comprehensive program of services. Our advocates can assist you with obtaining those services for your little one.
CHILDCARE CENTER OBSERVATIONS
Children with disabilities are at a greater risk of being expelled from child care settings than their typical peers. Our advocates will support your family by observing in the child care setting and making recommendations
