Behavior problems in young children have reached a crisis point. 2 and 3 year-olds, very often boys, are being removed from child care facilities due to "bad" behavior at an alarming rate. This may lead to students being placed in behavioral settings at a very young age.
As an advocate, I observe children in child care settings to help families determine if there is a need for a different setting, a change in teachers, or even further evaluation by the school district or early intervention. I help child care centers and their staff identify changes they can make to help more students successfully navigate the early childhood setting.
