COMPREHENSIVE RECORDS REVIEW
Every student has a cumulative file of educational records from the day they began in the school system. These records must be made available to parents upon request.
Having an advocate who understands the system can be very beneficial to families. With multiple educators, therapists, evaluators and administrators adding to the file; having an advocate review the file may lead to the discovery of information that has not been shared with parents.
A records review will typically take between 1-2 hours depending on the size of the file. Once the advocate has reviewed the records, a conference is held with the family to make recommendations for the next step.
